Concept of teaching:
Teaching
is process which takes place in the class room situations. It is more of formal
and systematic processes. I t is a system of actions intended
to induce learning . It’s special function
is to impart knowledge , develop understanding
and skill. It is
the act or
profession of a person
who teaches and
include all activities
of providing education
to other. Teaching is the mutual
relationship or interaction
between the teacher
and the students
which advances the
students towards the
goal . Teaching is successful if the students are able to grasp teaching
learning contents fully.

Morrison (1934) defines teaching as : “teaching is an intimate contact between a
more mature personality and less mature one which is designed to further the
education of the latter.”
B.D.
Smith (1961) defines teaching as : “Teaching is a system of actions
intended to induce learning.”

L, Gage(1962) defines teaching as :
“Teaching is a form of interpersonal influence aimed at changing the behavior
potential of another person”

“The supreme art of teaching is to awaken joy in creative expression and
knowledge”.
